Mrs. Wags Bread Pudding

2 cups cubed white bread
2 cups milk
2 eggs
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons butter
Dash salt
Put cubed bread cubes in a medium glass bowl sprayed with Pam or coated with butter or margarine.
Scald milk with butter and sugar. Beat two eggs in bowl and add dash salt - Stir into milk mixture. Add vanilla.
Pour over the bread cubes and stir until all are covered.
Set the bowl in a pan of water that comes at least half way up the side. Bake at 350 for approximately 1 hour or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
Top with cinnamon sauce.

Cinnamon Sauce

2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter
Pour 1 cup boiling water in pan with sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon. Cook (low heat) while stirring for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and add butter. Sauce will thicken as it cools. Serve warm over pudding.
