Rip is 2nd all time on the list of CRA wins only one behind Dean Thompson. With 104 it's hard to imagine how many more he could have won if the boys hadn't started racing sprints. He looks proud of the boys and their success and leads them forward. He won more races than Dean because in addition to 104 CRA wins, he also won a number of unsanctioned 410 events, but no one seems to have the data on that. He was the Wagtimes most popular driver in 2002. He is in the Sprint Car Hall of Fame and deservingly so! I respect him and his accomplishments more than most, because he never gave up and always drove his hardest. He was very consistant and determined to win. He had one appearance in the 1992 Wagsdash, but dropped out after leading when a muffler fell off the car.
