THE COWBOY CONTINUES HIS 2007 REIGN IN USAC/CRA WARS!!
WAGS DOES COOPERSTOWN AND BLOODY NEW YORK!!

While I was gone back East for 10 days Tony Jones continued to lead the 2007 USAC/CRA wars by winning his 5th race of the season. He dedicated this win to his son Kyle back in Indiana who just had successful spine surgery. Tony started 6th and made his winning moves down low as I was able to check it out on Jeff Kristensen’s Race way video replay at racewayvideo.com. Still too early to talk championship, but the Cowboy and his Alexander Brothers tuned silver bullet is working just fine.
Tony continues to be his exuberant self as he shares his good times with everyone and is having the time of his life driving the # 4 La Villa Restaurant, Alexander Trucking, Ferreira Dairy, DRC car. It was his 13th USAC/CRA victory and with 16 SCRA wins, he is 16th on the all time west coast victory list with 29 wins. It is two short of Rick Goudy on the list and behind the top figure of 103 shared by Dean Thompson and Rip Williams. Tony has won 3 of the last 5 and was on the podium the other two.
Mike Spencer continues to press forward and run up front. He and Jones have won three each of the last six races, so his quest for his first championship is in the hands of the Cowboy. None the less, “Special Spencer” has been very good in the little red sucker and this and future championships will have to go thru him and his team.
Danny Sheridan continues to do well in his baby blue Kittle Motorsports # 18. Runner-up this week , and after leading the prior Santa Maria race, “Showtime” continues to run up front and looks for another win. Rickie Gaunt set his 6th fast time of the year and continues to surge in the Black Widow Gardner entry.
The Cooperstown trip included my grandson Hunter’s experience of his Wildcat team finishing10th out of 96 teams at the Cooperstown Dreams Park tournament there. The National Baseball Hall of Fame was special and a trip each to Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium in New York for ball games was great. Driving thru the Bronx was unlike any city I have ever been in and the constant stopping for toll booths was a little maddening. All in all it was a great trip, but now that I’ve seen New York, I’ve seen it all!
Remember to get involved in the 17th annual Wagsdash coming up at Ventura Raceway on October 6th.
