Jesse Hockett was one of the real wingless outlaws of our time. He will remembered as the one who was most like the hall of famer Lealand McSpadden, one of the best driver & personalities of all time. Jesse was remarkably like Lealand both on and off the track.

Even though he drove both winged and non wing race cars all over the country, his best runs were wingless. He beat the SCRA twice at Kansas City's Lakeside Raceway to open a few west coast eyes a few years ago. He came West and performed very well each time as he won 5 times with CRA and SCRA, beating the best of the West. His joy in racing was obvious and his passing now ends a very impressive legend to leave behind, way too soon in his young life.

For me personally, it is a sad because he was one who came to play and win. His track exploits will be remembered by all who saw him. May he rest in peace.
