Perris on a cool breeze night

Each week it all starts at the pit booth. Perris allows the haulers who come early to go on inside and the crews then come back out to get in line for pit passes at 2 PM. A lot of smiles go on here. This week the temps wern't quite as hot as other times when I pulled in. It was only 94 after going thru the 110 degree desert path I make each race.

Here are some of the haulers who came too late to get in early.

Alan Ballard had a so so night in the 75 car. He was 2nd fast in qualifying and started 8th in the main when quick timer Spencer missed the inversion. He was involved in an incident and went to the back, but came up to 8th before the end for a good job.

Steve Howard gets his EZ-UP out of the So Cal trailer and gets ready for his nightly work of supplying the racers.

Julie Shiosaki and Danny Sheridan talk with R J Johnson who made a trip over to race because Manzy was dark this week.

Julies everywhere. Here she talks with one of my favorite blonds, Kacie, Danny's significant other! Now what is Jimmy Crawford doing?

Crewman Kenny hangs on to the brand new silver bullet that Tony Jones ran third in this week.

Tom Sertich just like to be near the Moosemobile as he waits for his driver Greg Bragg to show. Greg did good again and will be in the car from now on.

Adjustments on the little red sucker before hot laps start.

Seth Wilson's mount is ready after arriving late. Seth started on the front row, but finished 18th.

Josh Ford's crewman taking some tires for a ride in the pits.

That's Greg Bragg's wife and daughter walking thru the pits. Even though I have talked with his wife once, I still don't know any names here. Forgive me, I'll work on it.

Ronnie Case brought out a new low key painted sprinter this week. He made the feature and dropped out early with a problem.

Hmmmm, I wonder what he is thinking about?

I caught Doug Allen staging the Tony Jones crew by their brand new car and sneaked a shot.

Ronnie Gardner was all smiles as he told me aout the Victorville run he made, finishing 8th a few weeks ago. It was his first race in a sprint car and he was thrilled.

All I know is they were out front on display and made a few laps later in the night. A smaller version of a racing truck.

Blake adjusting on his ride early in the afternoon. Later he ran second in the main event.

Danny Sheridan makes his qualifying pass (5th) and then won his heat. He was crashed in the main. Note the photographer up on the scoreboard!

Mike Spencer tools down the back stretch. Hey, is that the new German beer Budweiser on the backstretch wall?

R J Johnson goes down the backstretch. He was 10th on the night after the long tow over.

A view of the push off area for qualifying is coming out on the back stretch. Alan Ballard stepped up and was 2nd quick this week and ran 8th after a restart at the back in the main event.

Ronnie Case gets his move on.

Garrett Hansen lays one down.

Ludwig Solberg IV was in the # 84 this week. They had a problem in his heat and never made it out for the semi.

Rip Williams ties one on. He was pretty consistant this week with 4th quick, 4th in his heat and 5th in the main event.

Tyler Brown was fast this week. He was 6th quick, won the semi and was 4th in the main.

J Hicks was on the hammer. He qualified 11th and finished in 11th in the main.

Greg Brag had a good night after winning his heat and starting 16th in the main. He finished 9th with the hard charger move of the night.

Josh Ford on a fast run. He was third in his heat and 7th in the main.

Tony Jones brought out a new Silver Bullet. He finished where he qualified, 3rd, in the main on a good run for the new car.

That's Cody Williams on his qualifying lap. If you look closely, you'll see dad on the K-rail checking him out. Cody was 12th in the main.

Eric Severson continues to improve as he drives the Lee Leonard # 48 car. He was 13th this week.

The first heat is ready to push off!

The blond watch is on.

The watch tower of the Black Widow Racing Team is packed.

Greg Bragg takes the lead and was never caught in the first heat.

Todd Hunsaker gets on his head on the back stretch. He came back to get 14th in the main event.

The Kittle hauler supports track watching.

Danny Sheridan comes thru the pack on his way to a win in the second heat.

David Cardey, from right to left, coming between two cars to take the lead and win his heat.

One beer or two tonight?

The Semi lines up and Tyler Brown pulls away from the field for a win.

Tyler takes the lead on the start as Mike Spencer pops his left front wheel.

Front row lines up with Seth Wilson and Blake Miller.

Second row of Josh Ford and Garrett Hansen.

Third row of Danny Sheridan and Rip Willaims

Fourth row of Tony Jones and Alan Ballard.

Fifth row of Tyler Brown and Mike Spencer.

The rest on back line up.

Lining up 22 cars is quite a sight.

And there off.................

David Cardey gets on his head. Note the scoreboard showing him third.

Now here's a pair. The feature is going on and they are standing in front of the no standing sign on the front stretch. One interested fan even tried to inform them of their stupidity, but got nothing but "come on down here and say that" attitude from the pair. Obviously they got in free, had plenty of liquid refreshment, were handed new t-shirts and thought they could play by the fence. They were ushered off, but still don't have a clue. Sprint car racing is a dangerous sport fella's.
